California’s AI regulations set a new benchmark for transparency, safety, and accountability, reshaping marketing ethics and influencing AI governance across the U.S. Not everyone is on board.
I'm not too fond of the government in general, but I support their intervention here.
The divide in the tech world over these regulations is really telling. On one hand, we have concerns about innovation, but on the other, there's a real need for safety and transparency. It feels like we're at a crucial turning point for AI governance, and California's approach could set the tone for years to come.
Thank for the comment, Becky. It is a "wild west" so far as ethical use is concerned. I see it as no different than the "sponsored content" issue a few years ago, which led to the FTC ruling, which said you must disclose any paid relationship. Of course, use of AI has much broader implications than simply disclosing something as paid advertising.
Hooray for SB 1047!!!

Hope you are having a fab week Paul.
Happy Friday eve!
Thanks, Neela. I agree that California is leading the nation in crafting laws and regulations that other states and even the feds can copy or emulate.
I'm doing great! I hope you are, too.
I am never one for overregulation, but I am glad this is being looked at so closely as we are in an unprecedented world with ai.
